Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how SA Bursary Hub handles information when you use our website.
What we do
SA Bursary Hub is an independent directory of South African bursaries, scholarships, apprenticeships, learnerships, internships and graduate programmes. We provide information about these opportunities and link to the official provider websites where students and graduates can apply. We are not the funder of any listed opportunity and we do not process applications on behalf of any provider.
Personal information
You can browse, search, and view every opportunity on this website without creating an account or providing any personal information. If you voluntarily contact us or subscribe to our newsletter, we only collect the details you choose to share (such as your name and email address) so we can respond to you or send updates.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Information you share with us is used solely to communicate with you or to improve the service.
Cookies
We use essential browser storage to remember small preferences, such as recently viewed bursaries and your cookie choice. Optional analytics and advertising storage is used only when you select Accept on the cookie notice.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which bursary pages are the most useful, and which searches students run. Google Analytics sets cookies that collect anonymous, aggregated information such as page views, approximate location (country or city level), device type and referring website. We do not use it to identify you personally. You can opt out across all websites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google AdSense and advertising
Advertising on this website is served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Advertising keeps SA Bursary Hub free for students. You can manage or switch off personalised advertising at any time in Google My Ad Center, and read more in Google's policy on how it uses data from partner sites.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can change your decision at any time using Cookie preferences in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, usually under Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and site data. Blocking all browser storage may stop conveniences such as recently viewed bursaries, but you can still browse and search the directory.
Your rights under POPIA
The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) applies to this website. SA Bursary Hub is the responsible party for any personal information you choose to send us, and enquiries are handled by our information officer at the email address below. We only process personal information where you have given us that information yourself, for example when you email us or subscribe to bursary alerts, and we keep it only for as long as we need it to answer you or keep sending the alerts you asked for.
You may ask us at any time to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may unsubscribe from bursary alerts whenever you like. Write to us and we will action the request. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Learners under 18
Many bursary applicants are still in Grade 11 or 12. You do not need an account or any personal details to browse this site. If you are under 18 and you want to email us or subscribe to alerts, please do so with the permission of a parent or guardian, and only share the details needed to answer your question.
Security
Information you send us is stored on managed, access-controlled infrastructure and the site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfect, so please avoid emailing us documents such as ID copies or matric certificates, those belong only on the funder's official application portal.
External links
When you click "Apply now" you are taken to the official website of the organisation offering the opportunity. Those websites have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we are not responsible for how they collect or use your information.
