Terms of Service

These terms apply to everyone who uses SA Bursary Hub at sabursaryhub.co.za. By browsing the directory, using the search, comparison or eligibility tools, or contacting us through the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What this website is

SA Bursary Hub is an independent South African directory of bursaries, scholarships, apprenticeships, learnerships, internships and graduate programmes. We collect publicly available funding information, organise it so that it can be searched by field of study, province and qualification level, and link each listing to the funder's own application page. The service is free, and no account is required to browse or search.

2. What this website is not

We are not a funder, a bursary agent, a recruitment agency, an education institution, NSFAS, or a representative of any organisation listed on the site. We do not receive, process, forward or assess applications. We cannot tell you whether an application was received, place you on a shortlist, influence a selection decision, or appeal an outcome. Every application you make is a matter between you and the funder, submitted on the funder's own platform under the funder's own terms.

3. Information is for general guidance

Listings are compiled from the funder's published material at the time the entry was written or last reviewed. Closing dates, eligibility criteria, funding amounts, required documents and application methods change during the year, sometimes without any public announcement. We correct entries as we find changes, but we cannot warrant that every detail is complete, current or free of error at the moment you read it.

Where a funder has not published a detail, the listing says so rather than guessing. Content written by us, such as the guides in the resource centre and the application guidance on listing pages, is general advice based on how the South African funding process usually works. It is not the funder's policy and should not be read as such.

4. Verify on the official source before you apply

The funder's official website is the final authority on eligibility, requirements, dates and instructions. Before you apply, spend money on certification or courier costs, or make a study decision, confirm the details on the official page linked from the listing. Where a funder publishes no online application form, the listing says that the link goes to an official information page instead.

5. Links to other websites

The site contains links to funders, application portals, institutions and government bodies. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices, and including a link is not an endorsement. Once you leave sabursaryhub.co.za, that site's terms and privacy policy apply to you, not ours.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the directory for your own study and funding research, and you are welcome to share links to pages with other students, teachers and career counsellors. You may not scrape, bulk-copy, republish or resell the listings or written content, present it as your own, use the site to distribute misleading or fraudulent funding offers, attempt to gain access to administrative areas or the database, or interfere with the operation of the site through automated requests.

7. Content you send us

If you report a broken link, submit a correction or send a bursary for listing, you confirm that you are entitled to share that information and you allow us to use it to update the directory. Please do not send ID numbers, banking details or copies of personal documents, we never need them. How we handle the personal information you do send is set out in our privacy policy.

8. Our own content

The written guides, listing summaries, application guidance, design and branding of SA Bursary Hub belong to us. Organisation names, logos and programme names belong to the respective funders and are used only to identify the opportunity being described. If you are a funder and want a listing amended or removed, email us and we will act on it.

9. Advertising

The site is free to students and is funded by advertising displayed alongside the content. Advertising has no influence on which opportunities are listed, how they are ordered, or what a listing says, and we do not accept payment from funders for placement. Adverts are served by third parties who may use cookies; you can manage your choices through the cookie notice.

10. Limitation of liability

The site is provided as it stands, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by South African law, SA Bursary Hub is not liable for any loss arising from the use of the site or reliance on its content, including a missed closing date, an unsuccessful application, a change made by a funder, an inaccurate or outdated listing detail, a broken or redirected link, or the site being temporarily unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. No guaranteed outcome

Using this site does not improve, secure or guarantee funding. Selection rests entirely with the funder. Any person or website claiming that payment will guarantee you a bursary should be treated as a warning sign, see our scams and safety page.

12. Changes to the site and these terms

We may add, change, archive or remove listings, features and pages at any time as funding cycles move. These terms may also be updated; the version published on this page is the one that applies. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute will be dealt with in the South African courts.
