Mistakes that cost applicants this bursary
- Submitting an incomplete pack, incomplete applications are usually closed without being assessed
- Uploading photographs of documents instead of clear scans, or files above the portal's size limit
- Sending a generic motivational letter that never mentions Study Trust or what they do
- Overstating results; funders verify marks with schools, institutions and the Department of Basic Education
- Using an email address or phone number you do not check, shortlisted students are often contacted once
- Paying anyone to apply on your behalf. No legitimate bursary charges an application fee.
